Neil Lee GriffinNew to Third Mind Films!
Born and raised in Upstate SC, growing up with a stutter wasn’t easy. From the teasing in school to struggling to say his own name. As a child, Neil was always fond of music, growing up with a piano and guitar near by, it was never out of reach. In his mid teens he decided that music was something he wanted to learn more about, setting out to take piano lessons for a few years. Using the knowledge gained from piano lessons, Neil taught himself to play guitar, learning to play by ear, which he found to be incredibly fun.

Wanting to do more with my music, Neil started incorporating more score and storytelling elements in his writing. His personal music tends to lean in the direction of a darker folk style, usually accompanied by a narrative or atmosphere, but he also loves writing scores for T.V. and film, which opening up many opportunities.

Having trouble speaking most of my life, Neil was always searching for ways around the stutter. Singers don’t stutter due to the “choral effect”. In singing, Neil found himself freed from the bonds of the stutter, opening his eyes to music as “complete freedom.”
